This Halloween, Organ Trail Is Paved With Candies And Pumpkins
October 28, 2012
It seems that for iOS games that already have zombies in them, the best way to update them for Halloween is to add pumpkins to them.
This has been the case for two zombie-slaying games, Earn to Die and Dead Trigger. And now, the zombie-filled Organ Trail is getting a lot of pumpkins in celebration of the festival of jack-o'-lanterns.
Available until Nov. 7 only, Organ Trail's Halloween-themed content includes: 12 new Halloween road events, a new boss fight featuring Frankenstein, candies, and, of course, pumpkins.

As its name suggests, Organ Trail is a parody of the classic retro game Oregon Trail. But unlike the original game, where a party of settlers are traversing the Oregon Trail, Organ Trail sees a party of human survivors fleeing the zombie apocalypse:
Organ Trail is a retro zombie survival game. Travel westward in a station wagon with 4 of your friends, scavenging for supplies and fending off the undead. Members of your party might die of dysentery or you might have to put them down yourself when they get bit.In accordance with the retro quality of the game it's paying homage to, Organ Trail features "retro beeps and hoops" as well as a 16-color pallet reminiscent of the original game's look and feel on the Apple 2. Compatible with both iPhone and iPad, but not yet optimized for iPhone 5, Organ Trail is currently available in the App Store for only $0.99, down from its normal price of $2.99.
