Feed Your Mind Even While On The Go With The New iPhone-Optimized Khan Academy App
November 24, 2012
If you've been watching videos on the Khan Academy app on your iPad and you've found yourself thinking, "Gee, I wish I could watch these videos on my iPhone, too." Well, you could do just that with the new iPhone-optimized version of Khan Academy for iOS.
Actually, you can already do that on your iPhone even without the new iPhone-optimized version of Khan Academy for iOS. Just go to the Khan Academy website on your iPhone's browser, select a video, and watch it right there.
But if you prefer a more native browsing and watching experience, then, yes, the new iPhone-optimized version of Khan Academy for iOS is for you.
Khan Academy for iOS launched last March as an iPad-only app. But it's only now that the app has been updated with iPhone, and therefore universal, support.
Through the app's new iPhone version, you can easily watch any of the over 3,500 educational videos provided by Khan Academy.
Note, though, that with Khan Academy for iPhone, you can't download videos for offline viewing. You can't also you track your progress or navigate through videos using subtitles.
For those actions, you still have to rely on Khan Academy for iPad. Which is not at all unreasonable, since the pocket-sized screen of the iPhone is likely to be used only for short-burst video consumption anyway.
Khan Academy for iPad and, now, iPhone is available now in the App Store for free.
