A new jailbreak tweak makes it possible to extract video from inside iOS apps. The tweak, called "Universal Video Downloader," means folks can effectively safe online video for offline use, and is currently available for free in the Cydia Store (via the BigBoss repository).
Universal Video Downloader will send out a notification when video plays inside an iOS app, offering to extract the video and save it to the iPhone's video library (though, at times, users may have to use iFile to extract the video in question). And before jailbreakers start wondering about the pirating implications of the jailbreak tweak, we should note that apps like Netflix will not work with Universal Video Downloader.
For an overview of the jailbreak tweak, take a look at the video walkthrough below. As mentioned, Universal Video Downloader is available to download in the Cydia Store for free, via the BigBoss repository.
