Red Fox At Hickory Lane And Trains Make Their Way To The App Store
November 16, 2012
Oceanhouse Media is doing a good job this month of getting new omBooks out the door. At the very beginning of November, the company released another Little Critter entry, Just Go to Bed, and a third Byron Barton book, Trucks. Today, we're sharing the news of two more titles, the very educational story of Red Fox at Hickory Lane and Byron's look at trains.
Showing the lifestyle of the cute and crafty creatures, Red Fox at Hickory Lane tells the tale of Mother and Father Fox as they feed and protect their playful and maturing cubs. Not only can kids and parents learn neat facts about the red fox by following the heartwarming story, but even more details are displayed right before the conclusion of the book. Each slide follows the same narrative and interactive principles found throughout the rest of the app.
Chugging along, Trains is the latest omBook of the Byron Barton series that sends kids coasting down the tracks in an extremely straightforward learning experience. Through brief and simple scenes, children will learn about railroad crossings, cabooses, tracks, and, of course, several different trains.
Red Fox at Hickory Lane offers the standard “Read it Myself,” “Read to Me,” and “Auto Play” playback modes, whereas both omBooks include professional narration and additional features to promote reading and create even more enjoyment. Those bonuses consist of words that are spoken and highlighted when tapped, noises and narrations when pictures are touched, plus fun animations and sounds to help pages come alive.
