If you’ve just figured out that you can read books on an iOS device, I’ve got the app for you. First announced almost two years ago, Sony’s e-book reader has finally hit the App Store.
Just like, well, pretty much every iOS e-book app out there, Reader – eBooks from Sony, allows users to adjust the font size and contrast of the book's text. Users can also create and edit bookmarks while they are reading.
Other features include the option of day and night reading modes, personalized collections, and library organizations.
Users who download the app will also receive an exclusive short story from bestselling urban fantasy author Kim Harrison.
Reader – eBooks from Sony is a universal app designed for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. It can be downloaded in the App Store for free now. Just thought you should know.
One word of warning, though. Just like other non-Apple iOS e-book apps, you won’t be able to make purchases directly through the app.
If you’re looking for more capable apps, take a look at our list of Apps For Book Lovers and Book Apps For iPad. I'd highly recommend either Apple's own iBooks or Amazon's Kindle app.
