Despite shorter than usual lines at Apple Stores worldwide, the initial stock of iPad minis is apparently selling out very quickly at many locations, according to 9to5Mac.
All of the iPad mini models were sold out in two hours at Apple’s Fifth Avenue Store in hurricane ravaged New York. And reports from the United Kingdom, Singapore, Canada, and other places in the United States said that the supplies have quickly sold out in those places as well.
Apparently some Apple Stores only received 100 units to sell today. A few bigger stores may have secured around 300 iPad minis each.
Only Wi-Fi models of the tablet were on sale at the Apple Stores. The LTE version of the tablet will be on sale sometime in mid-November.
Many buyers took advantage of the preordering system that went live last week. Launch day shipments of the white version sold out in just a few minutes after being placed on sale, and the black version soon followed.
Apple’s online store now lists wait times of two weeks before either color of the iPad mini will ship.
The Wi-Fi models of the fourth-generation iPad also were also officially put on sale today. Apple’s site lists a wait time of one week before the larger tablet will ship.
