Will.i.am Wants To Turn Your iPhone Camera Into A DSLR With A New Accessory

November 23, 2012
Even Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am wants a piece of the lucrative iPhone accessory market. According to The Telegraph, the technology lover will soon launch a product designed to improve photos taken with the iPhone. The accessory will clip onto the iPhone and transform the eight-megapixel camera into a 14-megapixel camera with DSLR quality that supposedly improves the clarity and definition of images:
"We have our own sensor and a better flash. You dock you phone into our device and it turns you smartphone into a genius-phone. We take over the camera."
Will.i.am came up with the idea for the accessory after a photo shoot in 2008:
"I was just hanging out afterwards, and one of the models took an iPhone picture, which circulated the planet before the shoot was even over,' he says. 'I took one of the photographer's lenses and held it up on my [phone] and said "imagine this one day". Then I said: "I'm going to do this."
The product will be globally launched on Nov. 28 in London. Pricing will also be announced at the event. The accessory will be the first to bear the name of the Grammy winner. While I am intrigued with the idea, I’m interested to see the accessory first hand. It will have to make a big difference in the quality of photos to really get people interested. And the pricing model will also be a key. Source: The Telegraph
