Apple Supports World AIDS Day, Both Online And In-Store

Our favorite tech company is showing its support for World AIDS Day by giving both its Apple Retail Stores and the Apple Online Stores a (RED) makeover. As such, Apple logos in some Apple Stores have been colored red, and a selection of Product (RED) accessories are available to purchase in the company's online store.
World AIDS Day aims to promote HIV awareness, and raise important funds for HIV/AIDS related research. Product (RED) accessories, such as this iPad Smart Case, donate a percentage of their profits to HIV/AIDS charities, among others. Some Apple Retail Stores, like the one pictured above, have replaced all their iDevice accessories with Product (RED) replacements ready for Dec. 1.
The numbers don’t lie: Every day more than 900 babies are born with HIV. By 2015 that number can be nearly zero. (RED) works with companies like Apple to fight for an AIDS-free generation by 2015 by creating (PRODUCT) RED merchandise. A percentage of gross profits from the sale of those products goes to the Global Fund to help fund AIDS programs in Africa. Since its introduction, (PRODUCT) RED has generated more than $190 million — more than $50 million from Apple alone — for the Global Fund. Now you can make an impact, too, by purchasing a (PRODUCT) RED iPod shuffle, iPod nano, iPod touch, iPad Smart Cover, iPad Smart Case, or iPhone Bumper. To support World AIDS Day, you can purchase a Product (RED) accessory online or in-store. You could also grab one of the recently launched Apple-Starbucks Product (RED) gift cards, either for yourself or as a holiday gift. Source: MacRumors
