Square Wallet Updated: Adds Digital Gift Cards In Time For The Holidays

Square Wallet has just received an interesting update to version 2.5. Now, users of the application can send digital gift cards to other Square Wallet users, who can then redeem the vouchers at one of more than 250,000 Square-supporting businesses nationwide. According to founder Jack Dorsey, sending digital gift cards using the application is "as easy as sending an email."
As outlined in Square Wallet's release notes, here's what's new in version 2.5 of the app:
Gift cards, just in time for the holidays! Square Gift Cards are the easiest way to send a personalized gift to anyone, anywhere in the United States.Square Wallet gift cards are also auto-added to Passbook and synced across iDevices via iCloud. So if you have a Square-using friend or family member, why not consider sending them a digital gift card this holiday season? Square Wallet is available in the App Store for free.
