WeatherBug Experiences Another User Interface Revamp And Gains Spark
December 14, 2012
It was back in February that both WeatherBug and the ad-free WeatherBug Elite for iPhone and iPod touch were given a major facelift. Today, the data-focused weather app goes through a little more beautification, although, still focuses on being informative.
Containing just a home screen revamp, WeatherBug v2.2 is designed to provide the best weather overview possible on the iPhone. By removing the UV Index and the day's high and low, users can see information much more clearly due to less clutter. However, the new UI doesn't contain a conditions icon, although, it doesn't have a blue gradient instead of a flat blue background. Tap on the current temperature or wind rose to see full details.
In the lower half, Earth Networks has replaced the three day forecast with the 12-hour outlook, radar preview, and the new Spark feature. Part of the My Alerts area, Spark is your personal lightning monitor. Alongside severe weather alerts, the lightning status displays how close strikes are from your current location.
Our Spark lightning alerts turn your smartphone into a personal lighting detector. WeatherBug brings minute-by-minute, mile-by-mile Spark lightning strike alerts to you, in real-time, for your exact GPS location.WeatherBug is designed for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.3 or later, and available in the App Store as a free download. WeatherBug Elite is designed for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.3 or later, and available in the App Store for $1.99.
