Today's Best Apps: Strum One And Oh! Sheep

January 23, 2013
The App Store takes delivery of hundreds of new apps per day. The overwhelming scene makes it possible to easily overlook an exciting game, valuable productivity suite, etc. However, we have a solution. Today’s Best Apps tackles this problem by providing you with a handpicked and tested list of apps that are truly worth your consideration each and everyday. Unfortunately, today's list is very short due to App Store problems.

iPhone:

Strum One by pentacom (Free, 9.8 MB): It's difficult to simulate a stringed instrument with a smartphone or any touchscreen device, although, this virtual ukulele app does quite well. In fact, the controls are seemingly designed with traditional two hand play in mind, just scrunched. You'll wrap one hand, that is, your fingers, around most of the iPhone or iPod touch to utilize the six chord buttons spread across most of the screen and use the thumb of your other hand to strum the four pads lined up along the bottom of the screen.

Universal:

Oh! Sheep™ by Hortor ($1.99, 38.0 MB): Experience some wacky and wooly fun in this line drawing puzzle game. Alien sheep have stumbled upon baaaaaaad Dr. Friedrich's evil plan that threatens all of mankind, and decided to come to Earth to stop him. Command the group of intelligent and color changing sheep through mazes of obstacles and hazards to collect the magic berries that Friedrich's needs as well as coins, then return to their spaceships to move onto the next area. The game features more than 90 levels, colorful 3-D graphics, whimsical sound effects, a star rating system, and Game Center integration.
