Belkin’s line of iOS-compatible home automation equipment is growing with the addition of the WeMo Light Switch.
The device is very similar to the Wi-Fi enabled WeMo Switch that can be controlled with the free companion app available for download in the App Store. The major difference is that the new device takes the place of your existing light switch.
One of the more interesting features of the switch is that users can link the it with Weather.com to turn the lights on at sunset and off again at sunrise in a specific location.
Dom Esposito took a look at the switch at Belkin’s booth during Macworld/iWorld 2013 that wrapped up Saturday in San Francisco. Click here if you can’t see the video.
The WeMo Light Switch will retail for $49.99 and be available sometime this summer.
For more information about the entire WeMo line, visit Belkin’s site. Along with a line of switches, we’ve previously taken a look at the WeMo Baby that turns any iOS device into an audio-only baby monitor.
