Macworld/iWorld 2013: Trü Protection Offers Eco-Friendly iOS Device Cases

Even though Trü Protection was only one of many companies showcasing iPhone 5 cases and screen protectors at Macworld/iWorld 2013 in San Francisco, the options definitely stand out from the crowd. Our own Dom Esposito swung by the company’s booth at the show to get an up-close look at the products. Click here if you can’t see the video. First, all of the company’s cases are eco-friendly, being made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic. And beyond that, Trü Protection has recruited a number of artists to compose some unique and beautiful designs for the cases. Since I love all things Hawaii, I was especially blown away by the three beautiful scenes from artist Heather Brown. The pictured Jewel of the Sea is probably my favorite. And as a nice touch, Trü Protection will donate 15 percent of the proceeds to a charity of the artists’ choice. Trü Protection also has cases with art from Jay Alders. All the cases are $39.95 and can be purchased directly through the company’s site. The company also offers a wide range of screen protectors for iOS devices starting at $9.95. The two-piece protector set with anti-glare film for both the front and back of the iPhone 5 definitely looks like a great deal for $14.95.
