Musician’s Corner: Eventide H9 Harmonizer Makes a Splash at Macworld/iWorld

Welcome back to Musician’s Corner, where we discuss apps and accessories for musicians and music lovers. Last week, we told you about the Chord App, a simple, yet useful app for practicing chord variations.
This week, we are going to talk about a new guitar pedal that is Bluetooth compatible with the iPhone and iPad. Eventide is really making a name for itself this year with the new H9 Harmonizer effects processor. This simple looking guitar pedal holds a wealth of adjustable sounds that will make your axe sing like an angel, or devil, or what ever creature you prefer.
Unlike a traditional guitar pedal, the H9 Harmonizer connects to your iPhone or iPad using Bluetooth technology so that you can fine-tune your sound using the free compatible app.
You can adjust the pedal’s settings manually, but to get the full experience, you’ll want to connect it to your iOS device to take advantage of 13 different preset algorithms from Eventide’s line of stompboxes. You’ll never need a pedalboard again.
The H9 Harmonizer will be available this March for $499 at authorized Eventide retailers.
Thanks for stopping by Musician’s Corner. If you have any suggestions for apps or accessories you think we should feature, just drop me a line or leave a comment below.
Last week, two of our readers mentioned who they would love to sing them a lullaby. Thanks for commenting. I’d love to fall asleep to the soothing, gravely voice of Tom Waits.
This week’s question: What is your preferred method of music listening? Do you use Pandora or Spotify? Are you a radio listener? Do you only let your audiophile ears hear the pure quality of vinyl?
Check out the video below of bassist Doug Wimbish shredding his four-string using the H9 Harmonizer at this year’s Macworld/iWorld. Click here if you can’t see the video.
