Previously For iPhone Only, Search Finally Comes To NYTimes For iPad
February 26, 2013
NYTimes for iPhone and NYTimes for iPad have just received their respective new updates.
The latest update to the official iPhone app of The New York Times brings the option to swipe to dismiss Breaking News banners in the Top News section.
Additionally, it adds a button in the app's settings section for managing your NYTimes subscriptions in iTunes.
As it happens, this new button is also included in the latest update to NYTimes for iPad.
But more importantly, the new NYTimes for iPad update finally brings Search to the official iPad app of the popular news organization.
Previously available in NYTimes for iPhone only, Search now lets you search for articles in the NYTimes for iPad app or on NYTimes.com itself.
Just tap the shiny new Search button along the bottom bar of NYTimes for iPad to get started. Then type any headline, topic, or keyword in the search bar and you'll see relevant articles from The New York Times.
Compatible with iOS 5.0 or later, the newly updated NYTimes for iPhone and NYTimes for iPad are both available as free Newsstand apps in the App Store.
Both updates to NYTimes for iPhone and NYTimes for iPad also include performance enhancements and bug fixes.
