Welcome back to This Week in Accessories. Even though it was a relatively slow week, lets take a look a few interesting new iOS device companions.
Weave for the iPhone 5 from Acase
Acase is proving that you don’t need to break the bank to have a leather case for your iPhone 5. The Weave is a simple sleeve that will keep the handset safe. A soft inner lining helps protect the screen and case. Users can retrieve their iPhone 5 from the hand-stitched sleeve with an elastic strap system.

Animatone Snug from iFrogz
While we covered a lot of accessories being introduced at
CES 2013, a kid-friendly option from iFrogz flew under my radar. The Animatone Snug is a cute plush toy with a front pocket designed to hold an iPhone or iPod touch.
When a device is inserted in the pocket, the company’s NearFA technology helps to amplify the sound of the speaker. The feature requires 2 AA batteries, and will last for 16 hours of continuous play or six months of standby.
Two versions of the Snug, Charlie and the pictured Priscilla,
cost $49.99 and will be available through iFrogz and other retailers soon.
BattleTank from Desk Pets
The line of robotic vehicles from Desk Pets is growing with the addition of the new BattleTank.
Controlled by the
free iOS app and an IR adapter that plugs into the headphone jack of any iOS device, the tank comes with two modes that allows it to roam freely or charge into battle against other tanks in multiplayer mode. The tank also comes with a built-in USB charger. Charging the tank 40 minutes will allow more than 25 minutes of play.
I previously reviewed the similar
CarBot from Desk Pets and was really surprised by the amount of fun that came in such a small package.
The BattleTank is available in white, olive, and green and can be purchased

New iPhone 5 Cases from X-Doria
While spring is still almost two months away, X-Doria has announced a number of cases that will compliment the season.
The new Dash Icon will feature puff prints that have a raised surface and a unique feel. The case will be available in some interesting styles, including Herringbone, Color Burst, Orange Bloom, Dandelions, and Cubes.
With an interlocking, honeycomb design, the Engage Form HC has a glossy inner structure that contrasts with the outer, matte body. A raised front lip also protects the iPhone’s screen when placing the case face down. Available colors include glacier, maple, and charcoal.
Inspired by rippling water, the Engage Form RP is formed with strong polycarbonate that helps protect the iPhone 5. Glossy rings on the back of the case stand out against the matte body. Buyers can choose from a black, purple, or blue version of the case.
The different cases range in price from $24.99 to $29.99. All of the styles can be ordered
