Popular movie ticketing app Fandango has just been updated to version 5.1.1 and now features some nice improvements.
Most notably, on the iPhone version of the app, users can check out the Spotlight section to watch the new Fandango original video series, Weekend Ticket, and to see the week’s top five movies.
Also for iPhone users, Passbook ticketing has been enhanced for easier scanning at your local movieplex.
In both versions of the app, along with the usual slate of bug fixes and usability enhancements, movies can now be filtered by rating and genre.
Fandango is one of my favorite apps that always comes in handy when I want to avoid standing in the ticket line with a herd of teenagers at the nearest cinema. And with iOS 6.1, you can use the personal assistant Siri to find movie times and then purchase tickets with the app. The integration does a nice job of showing what Siri needs to become in later version of iOS.
Fandango Movies - Times & Tickets is a universal app for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded in the App Store now for free.
