Listen To More Than 100 Free Titles At Your Preferred Pace In Audiobooks 2.0
March 5, 2013
Audiobooks, the official iOS app of Simply Audiobooks, has just been updated to version 2.0.
Audiobooks 2.0 offers several significant improvements, one of which is the addition of variable narration speed controls. With these speed controls, which offer 1.00x, 1.25x, 1.50x, and 2.00x narration speeds, you can listen to audiobooks at your most preferred pace.
You can set the narration speed in the player dashboard, which you can access by tapping the ellipsis button. As it happens, the player dashboard has gained new advanced functions in Audiobooks 2.0, including sleep timer, social media sharing, and more.
Unsurprisingly, the new version of Audiobooks also includes various bug fixes. But undoubtedly the most important inclusion in Audiobooks 2.0 is non-member access to more than 100 free audiobooks, most of which are public domain titles recorded by LibriVox.
Of course, if you'd like to gain access to Audiobooks' content beyond its free catalog, you can take advantage of Audiobooks' unlimited plan. This plan, which costs $29.99 a month, lets you stream and download an unlimited number of audiobooks and enables you to:
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 4.3 or later, Audiobooks 2.0 is available now in the App Store for free. Audiobooks by Simply Audiobooks is not to be confused with Audiobooks from Audible, which was updated a couple of weeks ago with universal support and other enhancements.
