Now You Can Create Your Own Magazines With The Flipping Fantastic Flipboard 2.0

March 27, 2013
It's a big day for Flipboard, arguably the most popular personalized magazine app on iOS — or on any platform, for that matter. For one thing, the app now has over 50 million users. For another, the next generation of the app has just arrived in the form of Flipoard 2.0. First and foremost, Flipboard 2.0 makes the highly personalized magazine app even more personalized. How so? Well, with Flipboard 2.0, you can now collect and save content into your very own magazines. To get flipping with this great new feature, just tap the "+" button next to stories you want to save, add a title and description for your magazine, choose a category, and you're good to go. Oh, and you can also specify whether you want your magazine to be made public or private, that is, viewable only to you. Moreover, you can email or share your magazines via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and other channels. You can also get notifications when other users like, comment on, or subscribe to your magazines. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Looking for interesting content to flip into your magazines? No worries, since there's at least a couple of easy ways to find just that. There's the new and improved search functionality within Flipboard, and there's the new bookmarklet that lets you add items to your magazines from your browser. There's also the new visual Content Guide, which includes a new "By Our Readers" section showcasing some of the most engaging magazines made by Flipboard users. Flipboard 2.0 also features faster page-loading, speedier flipping, and other enhancements, which Flipboard founder Mike McCue highlights in the video above. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Flipboard 2.0 is available now in the App Store for free. Let's get flipping! [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
