Qype 5.0 Delivers Improved Search, Bookmark Sorting And More
March 5, 2013
The official iOS app of Qype, the European recommendations and listings site acquired by Yelp in October last year, has just received its big 5.0 update.
The latest update to Qype for iOS is actually the first major update to come to the app since Qype was bought by Yelp. Unsurprisingly, the update delivers a great deal of significant improvements.
First and foremost, Qype 5.0 boasts a substantially improved search function, making searching easier than before. This includes auto-suggestions for locations, categories, and places.
It also changes the sorting options to always show the most useful results. But if you're so inclined, you can still sort search results by rating, by distance, or by rating and distance combined.
In addition, sorting options are now offered for bookmarks. Now you can sort your bookmarks by distance, by chronology, or alphabetically.
Qype 5.0 also gives you the ability to write and read comments and compliments to reviews. Speaking of reviews, it also brings a new design for review pages, with easy access to comments and compliments.
Finally, the new version of Qype provides improved VoiceOver compatibility.
Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later, Qype 5.0 is available now in the App Store for free.
Qype is listed in AppAdvice's Best Restaurant Finders AppGuide and is included in Localscope's newly updated suite of supported services.
