This Week In Accessories: Two iPhone 5 Cases, A Modern No. 2 Pencil And More

March 29, 2013
Welcome back to This Week in Accessories. Here are some of the latest iOS device companions hitting the market this week.

SeeSaw and No. 2 Pencil Stylus from Griffin Technology

Griffin has done a great job of designing fun and interesting iOS accessories for kids. And the company has continued that tradition with the unveiling of the SeeSaw case for iPad and No. 2 Pencil Stylus. Designed to protect an iPad in classroom or small group situations, the SeeSaw can hold the tablet in both portrait and landscape orientation. Made of nonporous material, it is also lightweight and easily to clean.

The No. 2 Pencil Stylus adds a modern twist to the classic writing instrument. Compatible with all capacitive touchscreens, including the iPad and iPhone, the soft rubber tip keeps the screen free of fingerprints and smudges. Being a faithful reproduction of the pencil, it provides a natural writing feel and won’t roll off a desk thanks to the hexagonal shape. The SeeSaw, available in yellow and blue, retails for $34.99 and is compatible with the iPad 2 and up. The No. 2 Pencil Stylus (not surprisingly) comes in only yellow and is $19.99. Both can be purchased directly through Griffin.

Earphone Lanyard With Case for the iPhone 5 from iFazz

If you have a problem losing your iPhone 5, or if you just want to look like Flavor Flav, iFazz can set you up with its Earphone Lanyard Case. Just like the name suggests, the case is worn around your neck with an adjustable-length lanyard. The tangle-resistant cable, along with providing earphones, has a microphone control. And if this style is for you, the case can be purchased for $18.35 from iFazz.

New Trent Travelpak

With a built-in AC adapter, the New Trent Travelpak is a sleek and compact way to make sure your iOS devices are always charged. The pass through technology also allows you to charge up to two USB-based devices while juicing up the battery at the same time. Four ambient LED lights do double duty as both a status light and nightlight that can be turned on or off. Avilable for $44.95, the Travelpak sports a 4,000 mAH battery.  A 7,000 mAH version, the Travelpak+ is $54.95. Both can be ordered on New Trent’s site.

Musubo Chamfer for the iPhone 5

Musubo definitely designs iPhone cases that stand out from the crowd. Following up on the Retro, the new Chamfer case for the iPhone 5 features a soft touch metallic finish and beveled edge. The slim-fit case provides access to all of the handset’s buttons and ports. Musubo also includes a folding video stand. Available in five colors - graphite black, metallic magenta, metallic silver, metallic red and metallic blue – the case can be purchased at Amazon.com for $24.99.
