Today's Best Apps: Puck Me, Stack-Ed And Robokill 2
Stack-Ed by Nirvana Tikku (Free, 1.5 MB): This StackExchange-powered reference app allows you to find answers to popular questions involving programming, games, home improvement, parenting, math, physics, history, entertainment, and much more. The process is a bit unique as you first choose a topic tag, then a top answer contributor, and finally a question. It's an approach that hopes to provide the most reliable answers. Navigation is simple with single taps to select items as well as swipes for next and previous. Unfortunately, changing the StackExchange site involves going to the iOS Settings app and Stack-Ed has no built-in keyword search.
Puck Me by Steven Baker (Free, 6.0 MB): Enjoy simple, yet challenging competition in this shuffleboard-style game. Two players will take turns strategically shooting pucks, four for each person, at a zoned target area worth up to three points near the end of a rectangular board. Players are allowed to deflect their pucks off walls and the opponent's pucks to gain position. Pass and play local multiplayer is provided for free, but online matches via Game Center require a single $0.99 in-app purchase to unlock. In addition, the game features colorful 2.5-D graphics, simple one touch controls, fun sound effects, plus the option of a password protected kid-friendly mode.
iPhone:Robokill 2 by Wandake ($0.89, 80.7 MB): Robokill 2 arrives for the iPhone with new content that extends the action-packed RPG play. In this sequel, you'll progress through three episodes to complete 12 missions involving a whopping 600 rooms of chaotic robot destruction. The game features retro arcade-style top-down graphics, dual-stick controls, character upgrades and power-ups, as well as Game Center integration.
