Interesting iMessage Bug Deletes The Last Word Of Certain Phrases

In a dose of Friday weirdness, an interesting iMessage bug has been discovered that deletes the last word of certain messages.
When attempting to send the phrase “I could be the next Obama” without the quotes and with a space after Obama, the sent message deletes the final word. The same thing happens when attempting to send the phrase “The best prize is a surprise” on either platform with no quotes and a space after surprise.
I was able to easily duplicate the issue, as you can see in the above photo. While the message looks fine typing, after sending it, the deletion occurs for both the sender and receiver.
Oddly, copying and pasting the message reveals the complete phrase.
The bug doesn’t seem to affect messages sent from an iPad.
Has anyone else noticed this bug with any other phrases?
