The iPad mini's Days Are Numbered

April 17, 2013
Those who supply parts for the iPad mini are bracing for a bad second quarter. The reason is an obvious one -- customers are holding off making new purchases until a new version arrives, according to Digitimes. “Upstream sources” indicate that parts manufacturers are expecting a 20 to 30 percent drop in iPad mini shipments from April through June. At the same time, Apple is said to have recently slashed their reserves for the device to between 10 million and 12 million units. This is down from 15 million units during the first quarter. Most rumors suggest that Apple won’t release the next iPad mini until this fall. However, some believe that the next device could arrive in stores much earlier.
