Updated GPS Tracks Is The Perfect Companion For An Outdoor Adventure

April 22, 2013
With spring finally beginning to make an appearance in most parts of the United States, it's time to hit the outdoors and have some fun. And a very handy iPhone app, GPS Tracks, has just been updated to help you along the journey. Instead of the usual driving app, GPS Tracks focuses on outdoor activities like hiking, bicycling, or walking. Compatible with four different coordinate systems, including decimal, DMS, MGRS, and UTM, the app can store your favorite destinations and navigate to specific waypoints. Users can also share their exact location or waypoints via text or email. And version 2.2.5 of the app is highlighted by some improvements and a new feature. First up, the app now has support for map rotation in the track course option. Accuracy was also added to the Average Waypoint screen. With an in-app purchase, users can also add additional support for even more GPS data. Finally, the update fixes some glitches with the map rotation and waypoint view for imported tracks. GPS Tracks is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and can be downloaded in the App Store now for $0.99. A separate version for the iPad/iPad mini, GPS Tracks HD, didn’t receive an update today and can be purchased for $3.99.
