Boingo has just updated its Wi-Finder app with a new feature that should make it even easier to log in to the nearest wireless hotspot from the company.
With version 5.3.0051 of the app, users can now purchase a subscription to Boingo Wireless via iTunes for $7.99 per month. Linking directly to a user’s iTunes account, the feature streamlines subscription sign-up and the billing process. Users can also activate a plan on multiple iOS devices for access to unlimited Boingo Wi-Fi hotspots.
"Signing up for a Boingo subscription just became as easy as typing in your iTunes password," said Dawn Callahan, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Boingo Wireless. "iOS device owners already use their iTunes account to buy apps, music and other products on their phone or tablet; we're adding that level of simplicity to the process of buying Wi-Fi."Since iTunes-based plans are automatically recurring, users must cancel beforehand if they don’t want to be charged for a month of service. The subscription allows access to more than 600,000 hotspots worldwide. The app also includes a handy VPN service that helps make it even safer to surf the Web. Boingo Wi-Finder is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded in the App Store now for free.
