Connect With Your Friends By Playing Dots, Now With iPad And Multiplayer Support
May 30, 2013
Dots, the addictive match-three plus connect-the-titular-objects game from Betaworks, has just been connected to its first ever update.
Arriving a month after the game's launch in the App Store, the first update to Dots delivers three major new features and a few minor improvements.
First off, Dots has just gained universal support. Previously optimized for iPhone and iPod touch only, the game is now natively compatible with iPad as well. Bigger dots, more fun? Well, you just have to find out for yourself.
Another new feature that has the potential of making Dots even more fun is multiplayer mode. This "the more, the merrier" mode allows you and at most three of your friends to take turns on playing the same board to find out who can match and connect the most dots.
The newly updated game also features a couple of high-contrast color options to aid colorblind players in having, well, more fun with Dots.
As for the minor improvements it brings, the update eliminates repeating colors dropping and reduces the cost of Shrinkers to 500 dots for every five pieces of the dot-shrinking power-up. In addition, it fixes the high score system and adds the ability to disconnect from Twitter and Facebook.
Now optimized for iPas as well as iPhone and iPod touch, Dots is available in the App Store for free.
"This is a simple pick-up-and-play game that will definitely kill some time," wrote Christine in her Hidden Gem review of the game here on AppAdvice. "It’s incredibly simple, but difficult to master, and will have you thinking, 'I can do better, just one more game' over and over again. Once you get going on it, Dots will be hard to put down."
I couldn't agree more.
