Cydia Tweak: Add Activator Actions To Icons With App Activate

May 27, 2013
If you’re trying to save some time while performing regular activities on your jailbroken device, this new Cydia tweak may be for you. App Activate is an awesome tweak that allows you to assign Activator actions to app icons. These actions can be invoked by double tapping on any icon you’ve set up within the tweak’s settings. It’s a very simple tweak, but provides a lot of functionality without cluttering your home screen. Check out our video overview below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYSNlJdvoaM

Within the Settings app, you’ll have the ability to specify which apps can be assigned to custom actions. Currently, App Activate only allows you to set up five app icons. Once you’ve set specified the apps, head over to Activator’s settings to define each icon’s custom actions. As an example, I set up the Mail app to launch directly to the new message screen when double tapping its icon. I also set up the Music app to launch Spotify with a double tap. These are just a couple of examples, but you can set an app on your device to utilize any Activator action, so as you may realize, there are a ton options. For an in-depth look at App Activate, check out our video overview. In the video, you’ll learn how to set up the tweak and also get a better idea of how it may be useful. Currently, App Activate is available in the BigBoss repository for free. Check it out and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments.
