Go Multilingual With Ultralingua Dictionary Bookshelf For iOS
May 28, 2013
Ultralingua Dictionary, which is touted as the "best dictionary app on the App Store," has just received a significant update. And you need not look it up, since I'm about to tell you all about it.
First and foremost, the universal Ultralingua Dictionary app is now officially called Ultralingua Dictionary Bookshelf.
This name change is a reflection of the fact that the app has just been updated with iCloud support, allowing you to combine your separate Ultralingua dictionaries into an all-in-one bookshelf. Think of Ultralingua Dictionary Bookshelf as your iBooks for multilingual translation dictionaries.
Apart from its slightly different name and its newly added iCloud support, the app now also has the built-in ability to share your favorite words on Twitter and Facebook.

When I first told you about the app when it debuted last August, I remarked that one of its major selling points is its handling of verbs:
If you type any form of a verb into the search bar, the app will give you the definitions of the infinitive form. Then, you can view all of that verb’s conjugations, including their translations. And now, verb conjugations already appear inline like other dictionary results. What's more, you can now mark verb conjugations as favorites and your most recently viewed verb tense is now remembered by the conjugator. The latest update to the app also includes bug fixes, performance improvements, and the ability to slide the dictionary results over to reveal the menu or back to fill the entire screen on the iPad. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Ultralingua Dictionary Bookshelf is available in the App Store as a free-to-try app. You can pick any dictionary to try for free. And if you want to unlock the full dictionary, you can do so through a $9.99 in-app purchase if it’s a single-language dictionary or a $19.99 in-app purchase if it’s a dual-language one. There are also a couple of single-language thesaurus titles available for $4.99 each. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
