Music For Every Mood And Situation Is At Your Fingertips With Songza 3.0

May 2, 2013
Even as such premium on-demand music streaming apps as Spotify and Rdio are available, nothing beats Songza in my book. Or on my iPhone and iPad, to be more literal and exact. And just when I thought I couldn't love Songza even more, along comes its huge 3.0 update. Songza 3.0 is here, and it brings a set of improvements that is just music to my ears … and eyes? Songza 3.0 introduces a redesigned interface that makes for easier navigation and focuses on the app's most sought-after features. The app's popular Concierge section, in particular, boasts a pleasant and attractive look that removes visual clutter and takes full advantage of the iPhone 5's screen. Oh, and it's also accented with soothing colors that change every few hours throughout the day. And while we're talking about the Concierge experience, let me highlight a couple of its notable enhancements in Songza 3.0. One, you can now long-press on any Concierge situation (e.g. Driving, Relaxing, Working) to bypass the playlist options and immediately start playing the playlist most highly recommended by Songza for that situation. And two, while on the Concierge screen on iPhone or iPod touch, you can now shake your device to type exactly what you're up to. Songza will then come up with the right playlist to serve as the soundtrack to what you're doing. For example, enter "Entertaining" and expect some great dance tunes to liven up your apartment party. Songza 3.0 also lets you do a search for an artist and see every expert-curated playlist on Songza that features them. What's more, any playlist you choose is programmed to begin with a song by that artist. That's for listening to artists you already know. But what about artists you have yet to discover? Well, Songza 3.0 makes it easier for you to discover new artists and new music with new in-app tips that help you transition from the old to the new. Specifically, these tips suggest new playlists to listen to when you've gotten tired of your old playlists, those in which you've been skipping songs one after the other. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Songza 3.0 is available now in the App Store for free. Songza 3.0 also brings improvements to HQ Audio, the headphone sound-enhancing feature introduced in the app in December last year. HQ Audio now supports a number of new headphone models. And it now makes it easier to select your headphones every time you add a new pair. Download Songza 3.0 now to hear, see, and feel the difference. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
