New Portfolio Feature, Higher Prices Coming To 500px Photo Sharing Tool
May 3, 2013
It’s going to soon be more expensive to enjoy the 500px ecosystem. Later this month, prices are going up for premium photo-sharing service.
First launched in 2011, 500px is for aspiring and professional photographers who wish to display their creations on multiple devices, including the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. In April, the company announced a new portfolios feature that is expected to go live very soon. The redesigned portfolios are said to revolve around three principles: beautiful, unique, and easy to use.
The portfolio feature brings with it price increases. Beginning May 15, 500px Plus rises to $25 per year, up from $20. Meanwhile, the service’s Awesome package increases to $75 per year, up from $50.
Here is a description of each package:
Joining 500px is absolutely free, and new users are automatically upgraded to Awesome membership for 14 days. After that, users can either upgrade their account for the year or stick with a free version.
All versions work on the free 500px app for iOS.
