Amazon Mobile For iPad Launches In China And Japan, Gains Category Browsing
June 27, 2013
Amazon Mobile for iPad has just launched in two key Asian markets and gained support for product category browsing.
Amazon Mobile was released for iPhone and iPod touch way back in December 2008. The app was updated in May 2010 with universal support to make it natively compatible with iPad, which debuted just a month before.
The app has long supported Amazon's markets in China and Japan on iPhone and iPod touch. But it's only now that the app's iPad edition is allowing users to shop from Amazon's Chinese and Japanese markets.
To select the new Asian markets in Amazon Mobile for iPad, just tap the app's top right Menu button, tap Change Country in the resulting menu, and choose China or Japan among the list of supported countries. The list also includes U.S., U.K., Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
As mentioned, Amazon Mobile for iPad has also been updated with product category browsing functionality. Specifically, the iPad app now features a Shop by Department menu that lets you browse product categories from A to Z, or rather, from A for Appliances to W for Watches.
For iPhone and iPod touch as well as iPad, Amazon Mobile's latest update also offers bug fixes and performance improvements.
The new version of Amazon Mobile for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad is available now in the App Store for free.
Amazon Mobile is included in AppAdvice's Shopping Apps AppList.
