Cydia Tweak: BannerSwipe Adds A Sliding Animation To Notification Banners

June 27, 2013
As you may have noticed, iOS is full of little animations for just about every task you may perform. One task that has been overlooked is dismissing notification banners. Currently, iOS allows you to swipe across a banner to dismiss it, but there’s really nothing special that happens with that action. The notification banner simply goes back to where it came from and slides up and off of the screen. BannerSwipe is a new Cydia tweak that adds a nice sliding animation to banners as you dismiss them. It’s a very smooth effect and almost reminds me of MiniPlayer’s sliding animation. Check out our video overview below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--i0Jf-2NQU

There’s absolutely nothing to configure with this tweak. You won’t find any options within the Settings app, so if you’d like to disable Banner Swipe, you’re going to have to uninstall it. In my opinion, BannerSwipe doesn't offer much, but it embraces what the jailbreak community is all about. Create an iOS experience that you enjoy without being held back by Apple’s closed mobile operating system. If you’d like to check it out, BannerSwipe is available in the ModMyi repository for free.
