Haiku Deck Updated With Getty Images Integration And Other Features

June 4, 2013
About three months ago, I told you about Haiku Deck 2.0, the biggest update to the amazing presentation-making app for iPad. Now, the app has received another major update in the form of Haiku Deck 2.1. "This update focuses largely on how images work throughout the app, making Haiku Deck an even more powerful tool for visual storytelling," says developer Giant Thinkwell. "One significant improvement is the addition of premium images, brought to you by Getty Images, the world leader in premium stock photography." The addition of premium images from Getty Images, which are available via in-app purchase, comes along with the addition of free Creative Commons licensed images. As a result, Haiku Deck now boasts an image library that offers over 35 million high-quality images. Haiku Deck 2.1 also adds image favoriting for future use, an image history of the previous 100 selections, and faster image import thanks to new album support. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. In addition, it brings the following enhancements with regard to public and private notes in presentations:
  • New in-app public notes: Add richness and supporting detail to decks shared to the web, right from the app
  • New private notes: Capture talking points or even a detailed script you can reference as you present
  • Teleprompter view: Connect your iPad to a projector and rotate your iPad to portrait orientation (vertically) to turn Haiku Deck into your own personal teleprompter--your private notes will be visible only to you as you project your slides
  • Voice-to-text support: For iPad 3 users, quickly dictate your public and private notes using voice-to-text functionality--just talk and watch your words magically appear!
Furthermore, Haiku Deck 2.1 includes an expanded theme gallery, a new step-by-step tutorial, a redesigned player, and in-deck slide copying. Haiku Deck 2.1 is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
