Watch 'Awkward,' 'Teen Wolf' And Other MTV Shows On Your iDevice With MTV 2.0
June 13, 2013
It's the end of the MTV WatchWith app as we know it. But in the wake of its demise emerges a far better replacement app.
MTV WatchWith has been rebuilt from the ground up. In the process, it has been updated to version 2.0 and rebranded as simply MTV.
To be sure, the app remains functional as a second-screen app, serving as your viewing companion as you watch your favorite shows on the erstwhile Music Television.
It lets you check out photos, participate in polls and quizzes, read behind-the-scenes info, and discover the songs from MTV shows.
In addition, it lets you chat with your friends about anything and everything MTV via Facebook chat. It also enables you to see show-specific Twitter feeds with tweets from you and your fellow fans as well as those from cast members.
Actually, MTV WatchWith app was nothing more than a viewing companion app. It's an app you watch with, not an app you watch on.
But that was before. Now, version 2.0 of the app also lets you watch full episodes of your favorite MTV shows, including "Awkward," "Real World," and "Teen Wolf."
Note, though, that full show streaming is possible only if your TV provider is supported by the app. Currently, the app supports the following TV providers: AT&T U-verse, Bright House Networks, Cablevision (Optimum), DIRECTV, Hawaiian Telecom, RCN, Suddenlink, Time Warner Cable, and Verizon FiOS.
MTV 2.0 is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later.
The app also allows you to watch bonus content from MTV shows, MTV News, MTV Style, MTV Movies, MTV Geeks, MTV Hive, and MTV Other.
