A Next-Generation iPhone With Biometric Capabilities Is Apparently Confirmed

July 29, 2013
While digging through the just released iOS 7 beta 4, Hamza Sood has found evidence that the next-generation iPhone will contain a fingerprint sensor in the home button. As you can see, the code mentions a photo of a person holding an iPhone with their hand while touching the Home button with their thumb. There is also a folder named “BiometricKitUI.axbundle” in the software. The biometric capability has long been rumored for the so-called iPhone 5S, but this is the first real evidence that we’ve seen of the feature. Apple is expected to release the handset sometime this fall.
