Apple's iPhone Shipments Could Impress Wall Street

July 17, 2013
At least one analyst believes that Apple will announce better than expected iPhone shipments for the third quarter. Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty notes that shipments from April through June could be anywhere between 29 million and 32 million units. The general consensus on Wall Street is that Apple will announce iPhone shipments of 26.5 million units during the June quarter, according to AppleInsider. Huberty also believes that Apple shipped 3.9 million Macs and 18 million iPads during the quarter. This would result in a net earnings share beyond Wall Street expectations. Apple is set to announce its quarterly earnings on Tuesday, July 23. As noted in Apple’s Investor Relations webpage, the conference call will take place at 2 p.m. PDT. For the second fiscal quarter of 2013, which ended on March 30, Apple reported that it earned $43.6 billion in revenue and posted a net profit of $9.5 billion. It also announced that it managed to sell more than 19.5 million iPads, more than 37.4 million iPhones, and and just under 4 million Macs during the quarter.
