Over the last few months, we’ve seen a handful of new and exciting lock screen tweaks. Recently, we previewed a tweak called Control Unlock, and as of today, it’s available in Cydia.
This new lock screen tweak allows you to unlock your device using an NES inspired controller. To summarize, you set a sequence of buttons on the virtual game controller within the Settings app, then use that combination to unlock your device. Control Unlocker may not be a revolutionary tweak, but it’s definitely a fun way to unlock an iOS device.

As demonstrated in the video, Control Unlocker is very simple to set up. Within the Settings app, you’ll need to set up a button sequence. It’s important to note that Control Unlocker isn’t going to act as a replacement for the standard iOS passcode feature. That being said, if you do have a standard passcode set, you’ll still have to enter it once you’ve entered the correct button sequence in order to unlock the device. Overall, I think Control Unlocker is a fun lock screen tweak. It’s not very practical, but it’s definitely worth a try. Currently, Control Unlocker is available for free in the BigBoss repository.
