Rhapsody For iOS Updated With Offline Playback Mode And Featured Editorial Content
July 20, 2013
Rhapsody for iOS has just received a new update that adds a new mode for offline listening and a new way to discover great music.
The latest update to official iOS app of the online music subscription service of the same name introduces Offline Playback Mode. This new mode can be enabled in the app's settings section. As its name suggests, Offline Playback Mode lets you listen to your downloaded songs, albums, and playlists without the need of an Internet connection.
The update also introduces Featured Editorial Content, which includes posts and playlists created and updated daily by Rhapsody's editorial team of music experts.
Also included in the new update are the ability to share music via Facebook and Twitter and fixes for download migration issues.
The new version of Rhapsody is available now in the App Store for free. Initially designed for iPad only, the app has been optimized for iPhone and iPod touch as well since its universal update arrived last May.
The original Rhapsody iPhone app, officially and descriptively called Rhapsody for iOS 4, appears to have been removed from the App Store.
Rhapsody is included in AppAdvice's special feature on music streaming services, The Best Streaming Music Services: Rdio, Spotify, Slacker Radio And More.
