The Wall Street Journal For iPhone And iPad Gains Article Search Functionality

July 9, 2013
Half a year after it was added to the official iOS app of The New York Times, search functionality has finally arrived in the official iOS app of The Wall Street Journal. With its new WSJ Search feature, The Wall Street Journal for iOS now lets you easily find the Journal News you're looking for. On the app's iPhone edition, WSJ Search can be accessed by tapping the "hamburger" menu button that slides the section list into view. At the top of the section list is the search field, in which you can enter your search keywords. On the app's iPad edition, the new function can be accessed by tapping the Search option at the bottom left corner of the screen and entering your search keywords in the search field that pops up. Upon entering your keywords, the app returns a list of search results. Tapping any of these results, of course, takes you to the corresponding Journal article. WSJ Search comes with a history of recent searches, but is available in English language only. The new search-enabled version of The Wall Street Journal is available now in the App Store as a free universal Newsstand app. The app's previous major update, which arrived in mid-March, added support for built-in Facebook and Twitter sharing and other enhancements.
