Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about Apple’s low cost iPhone. Unofficially named the iPhone 5C, this rumored device continues to show up all over the Web. So far, we’ve seen a couple of videos and a lot of photos showcasing this mystery iPhone. Known for his consistent leaks of Apple parts, Sonny Dickson has posted a new video featuring a yellow back housing that allegedly belongs to the rumored iPhone 5C. There’s no way to tell if this part is legitimate, but its visual appearance is consistent with all of the other photos and videos we’ve seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1efQ7tvhpo

A low cost and colorful iPhone would help Apple compete in the budget smartphone universe. Such a device would also cater to emerging markets, and in my opinion, a colorful iPhone would be an attractive option for young adults. According to recent rumors, Apple’s big iPhone event is scheduled to happen on Sept. 10, 2013. Even longtime Apple reporter Jim Dalrymple has given the rumored date his official “yep.” All rumors aside, with new devices set to be launched in the fall, it’s only a matter of time before we know the truth.
