Pump Up The Volume And Get The Party Started With TuneMob

August 6, 2013
When the Galaxy S4 was launched last March, one of the device features touted by Samsung was Group Play. Group Play allows ad hoc sharing of content, enabling music streaming among a number of Galaxy S4 phones. Well, if you've been wishing for a similar feature to come to iOS, you'll be delighted to know about this newly released app called TuneMob. With TuneMob, you can stream music from an iDevice to at most seven other iDevices. Music is played in sync on all connected devices, so you can crank it up and bring the party wherever you are. Setting up TuneMob on a pair or group of iDevices is surprisingly easy. First, make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on all devices. Then, open TuneMob on the host or DJ device, tap Start, and add songs to play with the My Music option in the drop-down menu. On the client devices, open TuneMob, tap Join, and wait for the client devices to be connected to the DJ device. Finally, tap play on the DJ device and, you know, get the party started. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Here are just a few of the things you can do with TuneMob:
  • connect everyone's jam box at the beach to bring the noise
  • get stadium sound by connecting multiple pick-ups while tailgating
  • share music across multiple boats docked together
  • share music through headphones while cycling or doing athletic activities with a group
  • play music all throughout the inside and outside of your house during a party
TuneMob is available now in the App Store for free. The app's interface is designed for iPhone and iPod touch, but it nonetheless works on iPad in 2x mode. According to its App Store description, TuneMob has been tested with iOS versions 6.0 through iOS 6.1.4 and has been verified to work well with the following devices: iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, third-generation iPad, fourth-generation iPad, iPad mini, and fifth-generation iPod touch.
