WordPress For iOS Updated With Fully Native Reader, New Account System And More

August 15, 2013
The official iOS app of WordPress has just received another major update. The new version of WordPress for iOS introduces a revamped Reader feature that is said to be 100 percent native. The original Reader was essentially a JavaScript-laden webpage wrapped in some native code. Well, that has just been replaced with a fully native Reader that results not only in a better appearance but also in better performance. The Reader remains accessible from the app's sidebar. It lets you read posts from blogs you follow and posts you've liked. From within the Reader, you can also follow more blogs and like, reblog, and comment on posts. The new update also brings a new account system to ensure the security of your WordPress account whenever the app deals with your credentials and handles authentication. "The improvements are all under-the-hood, so visually, there’s nothing to see there," notes the team in charge of the development of WordPress for iOS. "You will notice the app doing a better job connecting to multiple services including your blog, Jetpack, the Reader, and notification features." Also including multiple bug fixes and Thai localization, the new version of WordPress for iOS is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. The app's previous major update arrived early last June and introduced a new UI design along with a number of other improvements. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
