Acclaimed Campfire Client Flint Finally Sparks Into Life On iOS
September 23, 2013
If you and your colleagues like to use 37signals' Campfire online chat service, you should definitely try the newly released Flint for iOS.
As stated in its App Store page (which earns bonus points for featuring "Parks and Recreation," one of my favorite sitcoms, in the screenshots), Flint for iOS is "a full-featured and simple Campfire client."
Designed and optimized for iOS 7, Flint for iOS looks and feels nice on the new operating system. More importantly, it offers a number of useful features, including ones also offered by its desktop counterpart, Flint for Mac:
In addition, Flint for iOS comes with the ability to set push notifications for any specified keyword and the ability to upload images from the photo library or directly from the camera. Also, it lets you do some "peeking." That is, it allows you to view a room without joining, so you can quickly catch up with your colleagues even when you're not available to chat with them. Flint for iOS is available now in the App Store for the half-off introductory price of $4.99. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later. Flint for Mac, which requires OS X 10.7.3 or later, is available in the Mac App Store for $14.99. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
