September 18, 2013
Apple has once again topped the annual American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) survey for personal computers. For the 10th straight year, Cupertino ranked above all others including Hewlett-Packard, Dell, and Toshiba.
For 2013, Apple received a total score of 87, which was eight points higher than the industry average of 79. Hewlett-Packard also beat the average, scoring an 80 out of 100.
Last year, Apple’s scored an 86 in the same survey.
The ACSI survey calculates its scores based on pre-sale expectations, perceived quality, perceived value, customer complaint incidents, and customer loyalty. Its “PC” category includes tablets.
Apple’s rating includes customer data for Macs and iPads. It has been the top PC vendor since 2004.
