First Trailer For Riddick: The Merc Files Hits The Web

On the back of the latest movie in "The Chronicles of Riddick" film series is Riddick: The Merc Files, a forthcoming iOS game set to hit the App Store in the near future.
Though little about the upcoming app is known, the first trailer for the title recently appeared online, and indicates that the game will offer iDevice users cartoon-style animated scenes interspersed between third-person action gameplay.
It looks promising, and is definitely something fans of the series will enjoy. As a reminder, "Riddick," the third movie in the film series, hit U.S. theaters on Sept. 6.
Furthermore, the trailer notes that Riddick: The Merc files is being developed by Tigon Studios, who launched two previous games based on the series, "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay" and "The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena," for the Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, and OS X.
It also appears that Riddick: The Merc Files will be a universal app optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
No information concerning pricing or availability has been announced, but we'll let you know once Riddick: The Merc Files reaches the App Store. In the meantime, check out the below trailer, which gives iDevice users an idea of what they can expect from the forthcoming app.
