Convertible 2.0 Adds Universal Support For iPad, New Themes And New Swipe Gestures

October 3, 2013
Convertible, the highly rated unit conversion app that comes complete with standard and nonstandard conversion capabilities, has just been updated to version 2.0. Arriving a couple of weeks after the launch of iOS 7, Convertible 2.0 adds support for and includes design tweaks based on the new operating system. Convertible 2.0 also introduces four new themes that match the look and feel of iOS 7: Mykonos II, Kenya, Istanbul, and Provence. More significantly, though, the new update finally brings native support for iPad, nearly a year and a half after Convertible's launch as an app optimized for iPhone and iPod touch only. "The update adds native iPad support similar to the iPhone layout but with larger fonts, buttons and a good use of the available space," notes Convertible developer Efecto. "Future iPad releases will build on this by adding iPad specific features such as history, advanced favoriting and extended keyboards." In addition, the latest update to Convertible also adds new swipe gestures that make for easier access to the number pad and the drop down lists. Now you can swipe up or down on the unit detail to show or hide the number pad. You can now also swipe down to reveal the unit type list, category list, or unit list. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Convertible 2.0 is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $0.99 download. The app received its last major update in celebration of its first anniversary last April. That update brought support for compound units and other improvements. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
