Updated: Fitbit Celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month With A Special Edition Pink Flex
October 1, 2013
See update below.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Like in previous years, this means that we'll be seeing the color pink a lot over the course of the next 31 days. New this year is the special pink edition Flex wristband from the folks at Fitbit.
Available exclusively at Apple retail stores and through fitbit.com, the special Flex Wireless Activity + Sleep Wristband is available for $99.95. For each pink Flex purchased, Fitbit will donate $10 to the American Cancer Society.
First launched in May, the Fitbit Flex Wristband uses low-energy Bluetooth 4.0 technology to track steps taken, distance traveled, calories, and active minutes. As its full name suggests, the Flex also tracks a users' sleep patterns.
Like the standard slate and black models, the pink Flex comes with a tracker, small and large wristbands, charging cable, and wireless sync dongle. It works with the free Fitbit app, which is available for download in the App Store.

Update:
It doesn't look like current Flex users can purchase the pink wristband separately. We're currently reaching out to Fitbit to confirm this, and will update this post accordingly.
