Latest Update To Popular Delivery-Tracking App Parcel Delivers iOS 7 Enhancements

October 12, 2013
The highly rated delivery-tracking app Parcel has just been updated for iOS 7. Developed by not-the-famous-Russian-physiologist Ivan Pavlov, Parcel makes it easy to access tracking information for more than 200 delivery companies, including UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, TNT, LaserShip, Aramex, OnTrac, China Post, SingPost, and vPost. All you have to do is add new shipments in the app using their respective tracking numbers and the app shows their current statuses and locations. As mentioned, Parcel has just been updated for the latest iteration of Apple's mobile operating system. As a result, it has gained the following iOS 7-specific features and enhancements:
  • The app has received a slightly updated design to match the iOS 7 look and feel.
  • New dynamic systemwide font support. In iOS 7, you can set your own system font size. Parcel will also show its tracking data according to these settings.
  • Background push updates (iOS 7 only). Whenever a push message arrives from Parcel, it will automatically refresh data in the app in the background. As a result, by the time you launch the app after a push message, you will already have a new tracking data available.
  • AirDrop sharing (iOS 7 only). Your can share a parcel to any other iOS-AirDrop compatible device.
The latest update to Parcel also adds pull-to-refresh in the tracking history view and fixes a bug that causes the list of deliveries to be duplicated. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, the new version of Parcel is available now in the App Store for free. The app offers an annual $1.99 premium subscription for tracking more than three shipments at the same time and receiving push notifications on delivery updates.
