Softbank Buys A Majority Stake In Clash Of Clans Creator Supercell

Japanese carrier Softbank Corp. and part-owned subsidiary GungHo Online Entertainment Inc. have purchased a 51 percent stake in Supercell. The deal is reported to be worth 150 billion yen ($1.53 billion), according to Nikkei.
The Finnish-based Supercell has produced a number of games for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, including Clash of Clans, and Hay Day.
GungHo’s titles include Puzzle & Dragons, Princess Punt, and Freak Tower.
In July, Softbank completed its $21.6 billion merger with Sprint Communications.
